I have a 90 degree adapter to make the air cleaner bolt on horizontally.
The pictured adapter was sold here by Lynx for the V6 Capri, I have only ever seen 1 in use

Only benefit i can think of is that a sidedraught weber has tunable venturis .

Woah! I knew a lad that had one on a pinto... On a cold day going on long constant high speed (110) the sidedraft iced up causing the car to stall... Yes it was at sunrise and 2deg.
The power gain is almost negative cause of the bottlenecking design.
