Which type? Most were attached to the inner front roof frame, but later ones (late '72) mounted on the windscreen.

Here's some pics of a 1969 mirror from a 1600GT that I wrecked many years ago! It's available if you want it. Cheers, Terry

well silly me thought that mine was mounted to the inner roof frame ..brought one for the frame then come to fit it noticed that theres no possible way the sun visor locking plastic bracket could go on there without hitting the mirror ... so now looks like i need the one that sticks onto the windscreen , lucky there is quite a few of them from different cars that you can use .. wouldnt mind the original one but think i might take a cruise up to the ford wrecker and get a nice black one has anybody got a pic of what style and size the original one that sticks to the window just for a reference so i can compare some or get one that is close cheers

That one Terry put up is a UK delivered one. Aussie ones had a funny hook shaped braket that clips in kind of spring loaded

Was there one that the visors clipped into? I think I've got three different sun visors and one set used the mirror. Another set goes just up and down and another has a spring loaded mechanism on the outside allowing it to pivot to the side. Do you have the bracket mounting point on the roof mate or is it blank? It may be different visors you have which is causing the problem.

The one Terry has like mine actually recesses in the metal on the roof. And has a much bigger base. Different to 1969 and 70 Capris.

Mine had visor clips built into the base but I took it off and got a stick on one from a mk2 escort and then put separate clips for the visors also from the escort.

yeah the one i got is like that one but when i went to fit it there were no pre drilled holes you screw it on to the roof frame .. i can only see 2 pre dilled holes on the frame that the sun visor holder clip screws into which is why i think its never had a roof mirror ..and think it has had a glue on mirror being a 9/ 72 model if i try set the mirror in its place theres no way that sunvisor plastic clip will go on ... since i dont have the cover that sits over the base and even if i get one as i like the roof mounted mirror some of those above pics dont show a cover that the sunvisor clips on so i think i might look about for a chrome or billet windscreen glue on one and just leave the plastic sun visor clip on the roof frame as per original thanks boys

That mirror I sent to 'in rod we trust' was taken out of an Australian built, August, 1969, 1600GT, that I wrecked some 12 or so years ago!
