Anyone recognise these seats

I'm looking for alternative seats for my Escort and spotted these seats in a Gumtree ad. I asked the owner if he knew what they were out of and he told me he did not as they were in the car when he bought it.

I'm hoping someone might know what they're out of. The tilt mechanism seems unusual in its location and orientation, so I'm hoping it might stand out to someone.

Thanks.

    You'd almost think some form of recaro, looking at the headrests.  Still, they look like they would be comfy.  Only drawback might be how they are mounted - do you have to get a mod plate for different seats or it doesn't matter if the car is already regoe'd and you don't have to notify DOT if they are changed? len

    @NQRS
    My understanding is that in Victoria you can replace the seat with one from any other car, as the seat will be ADR compliant, and if they bolt straight onto the original Escort seat mounts without modification to the seats or mounts then it's perfectly legal and no need to notify VicRoads or get an engineer's report.

    You may be correct. This is the only photo I could find of a Toyota Tercel seat. It was from a 1986 model.

    Does anyone else know of some alternative OEM seats that bolt up straight to the original Escort seat mounts? Would be good to know.

    Thanks.

    that's funny Chuff, I saw the add this week on Gumtree, and wondered the same thing also.
    They looked familiar somehow.

    GTV6 might be on the right track, we had a Camry wagon briefly at one stage, would have been around early 90's, and I think that it might have had seats the same as your photo.
