Capri V6 Wiring Looms

A company in the UK have begun advertising factory correct wiring looms for the MK1 V6 prices (less VAT) is 283 UK pounds plus postage.  I have not seen a photo - which is critical before ordering as the UK had 2 different looms for the early MK1's.  The looms are full front to back, they do not sell sections (which I think is a mistake).

Has anyone ever had a loom re-made over here?  Curious to hear peoples experiences, as I have hatched a plan to copy the engine bay section to sell on exchange basis (would need to use the factory firewall loom plugs).    Im fortunate to have a car with a never butchered loom to copy from, however the car will soon be gone so I need to move relatively quickly to get it mapped out

Capri The car I always promised myself

The different years had different colored or coded wires from memory. A complete loom sounds good but color correct would mean different looms per year. I meshed a 72 loom to 70s and found these issues.

Could be wise to use a new fire wall plug. The main positive connection on mine failed one night years ago. All the lights went out, jiggling the plug got things going again. That wire now bypasses the fire wall plug.

Interesting to know how you would reuse the old firewall plugs. Would you cut before it and join or have you worked out how to get them apart. I've renewed a loom a long time ago with a donor. I found that older to newer looms had different striping on the wires and different positions from memory but it was 20 years ago. I completely retapped the loom and fixed anything suspect with new wires. It really is not hard to do. Any ideas on costs though JR and improvements like headlight relays would be handy even if just an option.

    cheers boys

for the most part about 90% of the book i have has same color code as the loom there is just couple of wires
that have me stumped behind dash board the plain white ones and 1 brown one ..i have them down in the book but just not clear about it think 1 is the battery level gauge

as for the reverse light switch looks to be a seperate wire's that connect to reverse lights  either they run under the car or along side the tail light loom ..

my number plate light bulb holder stuffed up globe was stuck in there ripped it out and holder stuffed up ended up using dash light from vk dash loom and fitted perfect in there ...wont be super bright but hey so long as it lights up thats all that counts
