saw that - a good box apparently but better off using a t5 - either with the dellow hydraulic conversion or the cable conversion from burtons
u get a cheaper box - use the 6cyl falcon ones, better overdrive and lots avenues for upgrades - and if it breaks, grab another one...

Yeah but all of that could be more expensive. See how I go.

IIRC the MT75 was from the 4 X 2 and 4 x 4 sierra cossies.  The 4X4 version has the transfer case at the end so will be a hassle, if you are going ahead make sure you get the 4X2 version

Its a conversion already done and used on an essex. It comes with some drive shaft parts so i should only have to worry about mounting and fitting to Capri Drive shaft. It has had a capri bell housing welded to the original to make it fit.

Has anyone seen or know about www.p9cyoplates.co.uk they do an adaptor plate for RX8 six speed onto Essex V6, only thing to sort out is hydraulic clutch and drive shaft.

P9cyco seems to be a rought but an adapter plate to mate a V6 or most fords to an RX8 gearbox seems easy enough. Same input shaft size and teeth and same size box as type 9 gearbox. Stronger box and an extra gear. Probably forget first gear though.

The T5 conversion from Dellows without box and lots of work starts at $2100. Then you have to massage to get it in. That seems way too expensive in my eyes. I would prefer obviously a Supra conversion but couldn't even get pricing for one. Of the Capris I have one will be stock Auto and stock manual then would like an upgraded manual and upgraded Auto and then the stock Perana. I bought the MT75 this morning which with delivery from UK is less than $600.00. Will try and post pics of it. So I will see what's involved to fit it. Keith

No I have not. The thing is after owning these things I still have never driven a manual V6. I have one that will be set up as stock but want each one of my new set of cars to be different. Also everyone has an opinion on what's good and a bigger opinion on what's not. T5 as a new conversion is expensive. Will try this Mt75 and see how it goes.

The courier is www.speedshift.co.uk he's come back saying he didn't include vat but that makes it £198 pounds but includes EBay postage fee. See how it pans out. Had problems in the past more so of when the stuff lands here.

i used the T5 primarily b/c the O/D ratio is better than the others (inc supra) - mine is 0.78 - after all, the O/D is the only reason for such an upgrade) -  (availability of upgrades - shifters and world class -  and availability and cost of replacement boxes were close 2nd's). The supra box was readily available  but expensive-  I wanted a W58 (has the better O/D). The RX box made no sense to me, given the O/D.

The T5 box I scored for $220, (checked it out inside) used the dellow hydraulic set up - $1185 - bell housing, fork, release bearing, slave and carrier  (Australian made was an incentive) - but already had a tail shaft. I used the standard XF clutch kit.
Now, if anything breaks I can grab another part easily....
still $600 for the m75  is very good....
