MK5 Ford Cortina 2.0

Hi Guys 
 
I need some help with my 1981 2.0 Cortina 
 
Whenever I press my brakes the engine starts idling really Ruff, when the car is warmed up the revs stay high and the brakes are not good. 
 
I've checked the vacuum pipe, master cylinder and the choke it all seems to be fine
