New Escort Mk1

Just wanted to get on and say hi and that I've just got one of the last 75 mk1's 2dr that was built in Aus. It's in pretty tip top condition and I've been pouring over these threads for about 9,000hrs straight. Feel like a kid at Christmas. Bought and paid for yesterday but have overused the word Google in the last month. I've got a fairly decent budget set aside and I'm willing to do it right (8-12month build). It's good to know I have this place to come and study and as I'm sure I will, ask a million questions. I'm in Torquay Victoria, so anyone close by or coming through is more than welcome to shoot the ****. Anyway. Thanks for having me and I look forward to the long road ahead. Although I know enough to know that there will be some testing times, but I've found something I think that will bring me much joy. Cheers

Welcome to the forum, looks like you have a decent base to start with- I take it that end picture is what you aspire to with this build?
    Cheers,

That's the MK1 I was wanting to buy but I'm in S.A and the car was in Vic. From the pics the guy sent through to me of the car it seems to be in great condition. Good luck with your build mate and keep us all updated on how its going on here.

    Hey Mate,

Nice find.  What are the plans? Have you started already?  Any more pic’s.

I am just up the road from you in Geelong.   Feel free to drop in and have a look at mine if you like. Might even take a drive to Torquay and have a look if ok.
