Can anyone identify these markings please

Hi all, i am new to this forum, as a lover of old cortina's and escorts i can see there is plenty to keep me happy. Can anyone identify this 1600 711m block. Over the years i have fiddled with plenty of 711m blocks but have never come across one with "x"s cast into it. in one engine mount area, one side of the engine, and high up near the top of the block.
Engine no is CK5PXA*********         Thanks for looking
