Mk1 rear firewall

I'm putting this alloy firewall in the back of my mk1 4-door.

I'm just wondering how others have done the sides next to the wheel arch. The little bent up lip around the curve will mean my alloy will crease when I bolt/rivet it down. So do I cut this off, or bent it down flat? Or will it be ok if I put the rivet on the raised up section just inboard a bit? I don't want to bodge up my 1 piece of alloy.

And how have others sealed up the edge here? I could stick a bit of rubber in behind the alloy, or just seal it with seam sealer or sikaflex?

When i removed the rear firewall in my mk1(1997), i left about 15mm of edge from the orig one so when i get around to working on it again i can simply screw the Ally sheet to them and Sika the gaps up .
Maybe you can rivet angled tabs to the inner tub and screw the sheet to them..

Ps thanks for posting the panhard kit my way .
