Hi folks, New here & just acquired (won't be picking up until later next week) a Grecian Gold GT3000. Very original from what I could see. Engine rebuilt. Other than that, will have to provide more info when I have her @ home haha. I agree about the rims, a nice set of minilights would be good, but it looks pretty reasonable.

Hi again guyz. I had to forfeit the sale hence it back on EBay. It is just too far to travel in order to inspect the body as it really needs resto paintwork as in, older resto was carried out who knows when. It really looks like a good strat @ reasonable price however, too much work body wise for me right now. Real shame as I would have it in a heartbeat if I had a decent shed to work on body..*sigh*

So just how much is my Capri worth? How many times has this question been asked? It seems to me that with a 'buy it now' price of $21,000 this Capri, with it still needing to be 'restored' is overpriced! I'd like to know what others think, as I can't see anyone paying more than $25,000 or so for a fully restored V6, unless it's a 'special' or RS model, or am I wrong? The recent and current ads would indicate this also as no cars seem to be selling!

Capri prices vary heaps (so does the quality of cars offered for sale). I personally think properly restored cars (if done correctly) are worth a bit more than $25k, but that only my opinion. I know of a couple of nice restored cars which have sold for more than $25k, but they weren't advertised, as they sold via word of mouth so hence no sales history. When I went to insure my Capri I didn't have any hassles obtaining a agreed value considerable more than $25k. But thats only my 2 cents worth.

My 2c . 35k fully restored and i mean everything done wiring ,interior ,paint. For example gold car should be around 15k so by the time new paint interior, driveline. You would then end up with the magical number. Can of worms here goes

A friend sold a mint Mk1 V6 for 40k a few months ago. I'll be listing a red V6 Auto with a reasonable level of restoration and good original interior soon, my expectation is 25, if it was top class resto I'd want 35 as I would have spent an extra 5k on panels retrim

JR, are you proposing to sell the car for what it's worth or for what it owes you? Herein, I believe, lies the problem. Just out of interest, RedBook lists V6 Capris as worth between $15,500 and $21,000, which to me seems a good starting point for the majority of V6 models that have been advertised over the past 12 months or so. Granted, there is the odd one now and then that is in pristine condition and does warrant a figure over the $30k mark, but very few I'd have thought. RedBook lists the 4-cylinder models as being worth between $7,200 and $10,800. Of course any car is only worth what the next owner is prepared to pay!

Check out p21 of the latest Unique Cars mag. A 1974 RS Capri sold at Silverstone, UK for $101,700! You never know - my jewel green 1600 poverty pack might be worth more than a week's groceries! Ian

Right on Ian, however there were only ever 248 RS3100s plus one ever built! That makes them pretty scarce. As for your 'poverty' pack 1600, I'm sure it's worth much more than a weeks groceries, just ask the wife.
