So the rust repair panels arrived finally today and the apprentice is hard at work removing all the sound deadener and cleaning up the shell ready to get blasted.

40 meters of roll cage tube has arrived so things should start moving hopefully.

Few pics....

Interior cleaned up now to see how bad the rust is. The firewall is not that great so may need replacing as will the g/box tunnel.

Few pics

Looking at that last photo, you'll need some bigger wheels
Loving this one. Keep the pics coming. Are those struts the shorter GAZ ones?

Yes, I'll be going up to 15" rims.  Those in the pic above are 13".

Yes, The struts are the Tarmac Versions so lower than the normal ones.

I'll be getting a set of centres from Braid in the USA and will get the inners and outers made here in vic once the car is done so we k now what offset is required.  It'll have massive dish though.

Here's the wheel

Lot's of dish like this but these are 16's I think

You'll find that bolt to stop full lock will need to be shaved off and the steering arm and ball joint will foul it, this will rub against the sway bar, i found this out in my cortina.

Also did you get the steering arms when you got the struts or your oem ones fit, so many types out there, and tapers the alignment, food for thought

Not 100% sure what you are meaning here but i'm using the same set up from my current car so I know it's OK.

Using OEM steering arms

Cheers

Dude, I find your posts very hard to understand. I'll be using an unboosted pedal box.

Cheers

Finished the caliper bracket template.  I just need to get it made from 10mm steel or alloy.

Here's a few pics

There's a bit of pad over hang on the inner edge so I'll need to shape the pad I think but other than that I'm very happy .
