Dan & Mel's Mk1 Cortina

the car is a 1964 mk1 cortina running a 1500cc motor with a gt manifold and a 32/36 webber, extractors and a way to loud exhaust.... standard 4 speed... and 16" fr Simmons (my old ones)

some of the SA guys would have seen this on a few of the recent cruises...

this is dans daily (when his not working and using his plumming van)his other project include a nuts V8 Capri that is a mint rolling shell at the moment, with mini tubs, 9", 4 speed loader, and hot boss 302. with a chassis kit and full autometer guages....
the car is in primier with a mint body sittn on convo pros... sorry no pics though as he wants it to be unvailed once finished....

that sits next to his freshly imported 69 428 cobra jet mustang.... like i said if your in SA there will be some cool cars coming from his shed in the next few years

just taken Rhys 2lt_scort for a fang 5 mins b4 these pics were taken

I like it! Goes well for such an old school car, with 1500 and all. I'd like to own it . If only 2door Cortinas weren't rare as hens teeth and in my price range...

    Very cool car.

    Thanks for the ride Glenn.

Superb car that looks as good in the flesh as it does in real life! - great example of what can be done with minor touches to an otherwise excellent Ford Design.

Anyone who owns these rare cars really know what they have....and are...well very cool people.

[;^)] might have landed a job back in old SA......tonight! Just got off the dog and bone and I fly in Tuesday for an interview.

You never know.....the twins might be reunited once again!

    I'll keep you posted.

PS - the pic above shows where the true style of Classic Ford ownership is at!

Engine is gonna be 1600 out of friends formula ford that was very competative (2nd outright season champ few years back)
We'll see if those Gtech times improve.

16.8 thats what my car ran 7 years ago....
how is this when my car always beats the cortina on the street.....

anyway cant wait for the new motor... and maybe a fire extungisher......

nah i must say the car has come along way from the day u got it.....
and its really cost nothing to make those great changes.....

now if i can get my car on club rego....
