Perana Diffs

Hi does anyone know anything about the diff used in the Perana's. Ive heard they were made here in Australia were 8and 3/4 inch (from memory). Looks like the V6 diff but different. Keith

god - by the time u stuff around with brakes etc - your better off with a standard v6 diff - if your running an Essex - the one in the pic looks like a borg warner.
Ive used a centura diff in a capri - cant remember how wide it is - a little more than the capri (stud pattern is wrong)
a capri diff is 1390mm wide, a Cortina (borg warner) 1510, Volvo 1499  (but stud pattern is wrong),

Hi Spud thats a picture of my Perana Diff just looking for info, I already have three V6 with standard diff and the perana. I have my toy which i want to play with so want all the performance options to look at for only this final one. As for the Perana Diff I have found no info so just asking for Knowledge from you guys on that one. Also I might break it one day. Keith Also check my new post in projects you will see the Capri that roof is for.

Yes but the Perana diff was said to be unique. Any ideas what it was made from like where the center originated, why it is stronger etc. I could pull mine apart but to me it's cogs spider gears and that gearbox smell. Give me a sniff of fuel any day. I could ask the South Africans to my hearts content but still would not get an answer ITS SECRET and they don't like to tell.

The Perana's had a Narrowed Borg Warner 75 series Diff out of an XW/XY Falcon (ZD/ZC Fairlane).

Wayne Stockman in NZ has the exact configurations of the Perana Diff.  You'll find him on the Capri Club of NZ site

That's close but I will take you a better pic of the detail in better light and pm you the pics. I bought the two wrecks that were in dubbo listed for ages accounting for two of mine both cut to bits in places but quite usable in others. Payed 320 for both only to find they were 4cyl as I knew but with v6 crossmembers so that was a bonus aside from trim etc.
