    Did the first trial  fit today of the MX5 lump  into the MK2 !,
    1- the front engine  / thermostat pipe to the radiator needs realigning or shorting by about 20 mm to clear the rad !
    2 - Drivers side engine mount will need a bit of thought to clear steering column !
    3 - Gearbox tunnel needs a small bit of work where MX5 box mounts further back than a type 9 but nothing too bad ;
    Will keep ye posted of the progress and any suggestions to sort out any of the above very welcome ...

    I thought type 9's were back far enough as it is.  How much further do you expect the Mazda gear lever to poke though?

    The gear box itself has the mounting point  135 mm further back than a type 9 ,and gear leaver center appears about 25 -30 mm further back ,,,But a complete alloy casing including the bell housing makes it a lovely light box to handle and having driven it has a lovely gear change and gear ratios  are superb !,,
