Strut washer

Hi Newb to this site.
I am refurbishing 2l struts to be installed in mk1.
Question- is there suppose to be a concave washer between the top spring seat and the top mounting plate, as per gregory's manual.
The struts i bought had adjustable camber tops(small) but no concave washer. I am installing standard top mount/ 2l running gear in so that i can get mod plate/ rego without to much hassle.
