Only once. It was a special order (Special Vehicle Order) on a 1970 car. For that particular car it was metallic dark brown I think.
I think a letter from Ford would be more useful to find the exact colour, as it could have been anything available in the Ford range at the time.

There was a Capri V6 for sale last year on gumtree and Ebay, with the claim it was SVO regarding a wider body and enhancements. The verification letter is easy to get and costs nothing and worthwhile getting for any car you own.

I think the guy who had the 'wide body' had his hand on it.

Certainly did couldn't take his hand off it as well. It looked good but would not put s price on it. Wonder if that sold. But I would wonder if Ford verification letter would show the Color better to check the useen sections for an idea. The verification letter shows paint code but it would likely show SVO like the ID Tag. And would have no idea the true Color. Wonder what the police service would have on there database.

It does make it difficult when re-spraying. The original paint is 45 years old and it shows - hopefully I'll find some pristine colour when I pull the fuel tank out

Hi Spud, If you take a section of that paint to a paint supplier they should be able to match it and give you the code. If you take it from behind the vin plate it should be close to original. It won't give you the name but will give you the right colour. That V6 looks pretty rusty though. You obviously like a challenge like all of us with these great cars. Keith

Also have tried the verification letter from Ford. They get back to you really quickly. And might give more insight to the SVO

Yeah, just write to Ford giving them the chassis number and proof that you are the registered owner.

Their number is 133673 (Ford Customer Relations Centre). They will normally ask for a copy of your drivers licence and proof of ownership. If you don't have proof of ownership, they'll probably need a stat dec from you to go further. They used to have a direct email address, but this is their contact page: https://www.ford.com.au/contact-usThe CRC mailing address is near the bottom. Cheers Jamie
