Big bore pipes-Mark 2 Escort

Hi All'

Bought set of big bore pipes for my RS but wont fit witout moving steering out of the way, they are full tuned length ones. Work and time demands means I am not going to be able to do this for quite a while, so will onsell them and get a standard set later. Car is nearly a daily driver so cant mess about. Cost was $340 and freight- cheap by E-go. PM me if interested. If you have a pedal box setup they will fit straight in, my booster bracket and the rest don't give me room to manouvre.
Cheers,
Len

They are pacemaker.  I added a couple of coats of heatproof paint on top of the blue finish they put on . They put paper stickers on the pipes which I removed.  As you would expect the stickers didn't come off cleanly so when I used some turps to clean up the blue paint came straight off. Beats me why they don't bake on the paint before sending them off, without it the paint cover isn't worth a damn it's so easily knocked about. See pic attached.

Assuming your RS is a mk2 they should fit......Ive got these headers on a mk 2 and its got the standard brake booster fitted. They take a fair bit of effort to feed them between the brake booster and steering but with the right angles they fit. Id have another crack.

Thanks for that encouragement, I take it from your comments that no moving of the steering was involved. I will enlist some help from my brother to fit these, pity , as it was an experienced exhaust place that I took it to so you would expect they would be familiar with juggling this sort of stuff. There are no fitting instructions on line for this model.

    Hi All,
Enlisted some help from brother and got them fitted yesterday. Didn't touch the steering but did undo the engine mount bolt on drivers side and jacked up the engine to allow the pipes to pivot just the little bit needed to slot the pipes in. The brake booster pin in the mounting bracket was fitted arse about face and stuck out so removed split pin and pushed in flush to give a bit more room as well. Jury rigged the current exhaust system in place enough to get to exhaust shop without attracting too much attention. Tuned length pipes give smoother exhaust note and pull smoother through the gears as well.
    Cheers,
