Leather Dash Covers

Looks closely at the "topgaiters" one and you'll see it is made from several pieces of leather stiched together.  That would be fine if it were just around the instrument cluster, but it appears to also be joined right in front of the passenger.  Last time I checked, cows were quite big, so there really is no reason for this, so I presume it is about reducing cost.  I'd rather pay extra for one less piece myself.
