Advice on any mods (if any)

Hey all,

Picked up a mk1 2 door with a mk2 1600 in it. My question is what mods should I do to the engine (if any)? Are there any changes that should definitely be made?

Cheers,

Shags

I dont have any experience with the 1600`s myself but they are a good motor and take work really well, i think its the block they use for formula ford cars

32/32 or 32/36 or 28/36 weber & GT manifold, extractors, exhaust. Beyond that, full race spec. It's Mild or Wild with these engines. Middle ground is just money wasted

Agree. If you're using it for a regular/daily driver then mild mods will still give you a nippy package, especially in a Mark1. Wont have to stop at every second petrol station if driven smoothly. Can get some very wild stuff for crossflows....
