1600 GT Ring Gear Req'd (254mm ID)

Hi all,
I'm looking for a Ring Gear to go onto my 1600GT motor. I have the Flywheel and only need the Ring Gear. My old one is a wee bit too warn to put back on. Its the 254mm ID size.
Any local Adelaide assistance/offers would be great, but interstate assistance/offers are also welcomed.
I've seen I can buy a new one from Yesterfords, I'm just looking to see if there are any decent condition pre-loved ones out there first.
Cheers, Scott

Try some of the smaller wreckers, i believe Blair Athol Wreckers on Churchill road have some parts

I think thats the one, but try calling other smaller wreckers as they might have escorts where the larger ones get rid of old stock fairly regularly. Is the ring on the 1600 any different to the pinto? would give you a much bigger range to choose from

Yes it is diff from the Pinto one unfortunately. I've already gone down that route as I had a Pinto/2L Flywheel with Ring Gear lying about. The Pinto/2L one is larger than the GT one by about 5-8mm and the standard 1300/1600 one is smaller than the GT one by about 3-4mm. The GT one is an oddball size (254mm ID)...Thanks Ford :)

Thats not going to make it easy then. Do the starter motors differ? If the standard has a larger spur gear you might be able to swap for a standard flywheel and starter

The standard Inertia Starter Motor works with the GT Ring Gear.
Its the Pinto/2L one that has a diff tooth profile and needs the Pre-Engaged Starter Motor.
Yeh a fall back option is to use a standard Flywheel and Ring Gear but as my engine is a nicely tuned 1600GT and I'd prefer to use the lighter GT Flywheel set up.
I'll just have to see how we go.
