Mk1 coupe parts

Hey guys,
I'm in need of a new LH door for my Escort and just haven't been able to find one. Does anyone have any suggestions? Even if it's a reproduction skin from the UK..

    Adelaide.
I have found plenty of MK 2 doors - was wondering if one of these doors (or the skin) would would be interchangeable. Any ideas?

All i can really suggest is to spend some time on the phone ringing some of the smaller wrecking yards, never know your luck. Just how bad is the damage to the door?

Mk2 van doors will fit mk1 escort sedan. . The only difference is the key lock is bigger and the inside door handles. . With the inside handles you can cut off the old mk1 inners and rivet or Weld to the mk2 inner door. I have a mk2 van door on my mk1 van and fits well... just hadn't got to the inner frame and decided to mk2 both inners which i prefer or mk1 as original....if this makes sense !

Yeah good call - I found exactly the same thing! We fitted a mk2 van door over the weekend and everything but the interior handles were a perfect match. Cheers for the advice, got some welding to do. :)

Local wrecker was the key. If anyone else is looking for Escort parts they had plenty of gauges and switches etc there too - Blair Athol Wreckers
Yeah the damage wasn't that bad but the cowboy repair job that had been attempted was pretty ugly!

Never seen an Australian 2 door Ghia, Not listed in factory coding either. The highest spec in a 2 door is GL rally pac or RS 2000. In either Auto or Manuel. English cars did have a 2 door with vinyl roof. 4 Door Ghia's all had vinyl roofs unless deleted when ordered.
    11638 Ghia Sedan 4 Door 1976-6/77 1.6 Litre
    11736 Ghia Sedan 4 Door 6/77- 12/78 2 litre
    11939 Ghia Sedan 4 Door 12/78-    2 litre

Care to share your build code?

Probably looks like a Ghia cause of vinyl roof and tach dash... someone later could have added the fake wood dash trimming .
.. or could be a personal import ..
Just contemplating as we never got 2dr ghia
