Performance wheels my experience!!
Good afternoon all. Well after 6 months of hassles with trying to get my wheels 5x 15x7 GTR superlites finished it has all come to a crashing halt. 1st month spent waiting for them to do another run of the wheels,3 weeks to make, paint and polish, then to find out that all the wheels in the batch (500 superlites and GTR's) had a defect and were self destructing at 80kph during checks and had to be redone!!!! Another month passed, WINNER!! wheels are ready, then get the phone call that a new employee had packed my custom rims in standard wheel boxes and they are lost in the warehouse so they will have to go through every box to find them!!!! three week only to find out they have only found three,at this point i'm ready to level the whole factory in a violent and spectacular way, advised they will be found,as they are doing a audit due to the sale of performance to the chinese company. So to end the rant, my mate who used to deliver for performance had supposedly organised to get my wheels as part of the $4000 they still owed him,so he went in today to get them only to find My custom 5 x 4x108+ 12 gold with polished lip are in fact... 2x yes only two rims!!!!!!! are 5x108+15 gold with polished lip!!!!!!!! and the icing on the cake is because Performance are now sold to the chinese and run they had no clue and tried to sell him my rims for $750 for two!!!! he was also there to collect 4 other sets of custom wheels for his mates and all of them were wrong, offset, colours and machining. SO time to start again on the hunt for the perfect set.

Although from the UK Compomotive seem to be a quality wheel and one of the best looking minilite style in my opinion. Stuckey Tyres in Melbourne distribute them I believe.

Cheers, but I might try something different other than the minilite shape always wanted 15x7 convos don't mind the drag look.

If you need just a little more clearance then having the guards rolled out slightly or flattening the guard inner lips is sometimes al it needs. is your car drivable ? Down to the shop and try it on for size. If not take some measurements from front to rear on the rim and transfer to the rear diff and see how much space is in the arches when the vehicle is sitting at its normal ride height. If you look at the post on sunraisers on an escort I think one of the boys was talking about 15x7 -12offset rim giving him about 5mm clearance on guards -does -16p mean that the wheels will stick out 4mm wider? cheers, Len

There was a guy in Morphett Vale that had a set of Convo Pros for sale when I spoke to him in February. He offered them to me when I bought some other stuff from him but they are not my thing. Could give you his number if you like. Cheers, Craig.

Careful, ET+12 should fit without rolling the guards, but ET-12 sticks out an extra 24mm on that!

Most wheels can be drilled for an alternate stud pattern, its legal as long as its done by a licenced workshop

Hey mate that was me who was selling them, (although im in aberfoyle park not morphet vale) i sold those wheels to a mate in a matter minuets to a mate that also has a red sundowner, I sold them as they didnt fit as nice as i would like, funny thing is i had been chasing them for over 5 years of a another guy, they did look the part though..but it required a few mods to fit my particular van, funny i have a had a few dealings with performance and all have been great until the last one a month ago, they clearly dont give a $hit no more
