Cometic is good gasket, well priced. I Used a lot of them in various engine builds with no problems. Thinest they do is 0.69 mm.

As far as I know as long as it is a 2.0l Zetec then yes. From memory some Zetecs already have a thin stock head gasket......what was yours? what are you trying to achieve by looking for a thinner one?

    Cheers

Just a little bit more compression Ive got a 2.0 to build, big cams, heads ported, new valves, forged pistons etc. Our local engine builder is helping with parts and advice as I go along and one thing he has suggested is not to go down the head shaving route(for high compression)cause the pump fuel we got is rubbish. I purchased the engine disassembled  its a low km year 2000  so it would only have had the standard gasket. I only asked about the st170 one cause I know its a triple layer steel job and thought it may be one to consider.

All blacktop zetec motors have a MLS head gasket from factory .. Even the 1.8.
Why not just get 0.040th skimmed off the head? They will go to 0.130th so plenty of scope there .....

The heads already assembled and good to go, if I pull it apart I wont be able to put it back together.
