    BC are Australian built cars.
Post the complete tag detail so we can tell you what it was built as.

OK after a little research via google i have found that you are right, B denotes british built and the C denotes the Saarlouis plant.

    BC is the model name

C is the product source C=UK
K is the Assembly plant K= Sydney

Meaning the cars were brought to Australia in kit form from the UK and assembled in Sydney.

My Au built Escort has model code BC, so that's not the whole story.  Post the complete tag no., which will reveal all, including where it was built.  Au built cars also had extra body plates to strengthen the chassis, which are easy to spot if you know where to look.

WTB: Recaro seat - any condition considered

You need to apply the serial code (CK) to that document to get the country and plant not BC. BC is the model name like XY Falcon.

CK40 does not mean it is a UK model!  "CK" meant it was assembled at HOMEBUSH in Sydney.

BC was just the model code but they were more commonly referred to as MK2.

The cars were assembled here in what is referred to as 'knock down form' which meant the panels were pressed overseas but the shell and subsequently the cars were built here

    Make it go FASTER!

Looks like the car in question is about to be crushed, is there anyone in Tassie that can save it?
