RTA/ADR and use of heim/rod ends on steering

Recent conversation with my engineer, he advised I'm unable to use a hiem/rod ends on the end of the steering rack arm to connect to the struts steering arm.

Im was planning to use this to give more adjustment to correct the steering geo, which is needed as i need to lower the rack to give sump clearance.
 
But for the life of me I can't find any literature to say that i can't? Other forums etc say a similar thing to.. that they can't be used. All i can find is that I can use them, as long as its decent quality and use a rubber dust cover.
 
Im using a 5/8" (15.5mm) trough bolt size, very high quality sealed high angle rose joint, as well as a rubber dust cover. Most guys in the UK only use a 1/2" size bolt. So strength isn't an issue. And being double sealed I can't see them getting dirty. And also high angle so to keep it from reaching its maximum angle through the suspension stroke...

Anyone have any literature to say I can't use these?

    I reckon the engineer might be thinking along the lines of parts a and c of the street rod guide you posted. I really cant see any other reasons myself

    Agree with you there they're the two main areas. As long as they don't reach maximum articulation they should be ok? As for reliability, strength i shouldn't think is an issue.. just wearing out and becoming sloppy where i agree cheap ones would probably be prone to this. But decent ones like I have I wouldn't think would be so bad?
     
    Anyone have experience with rods ends being used in connection with the steering arm? Were they reliable?

    One thing a lot of people dont take into account is that here in aus we have some of the toughest vehicle laws in the world, 90% of the hotrods made in the usa or uk would never be allowed on the roads here. I remember a show where two big time hotrod builders from the us came here to check out the scene here, they were shocked at the regulations we have to meet and admitted they couldnt match them on one of their $150 000 hotrods
