Correct Mk2 Escort windscreen info wanted

Check along the edge , should see a strip of plastic sandwiched between the inner and outer layer. From when i used to bust escorts up back in the early 90s i noticed mk2s between 75-77 that are less than a Ghia were safety screens. .ie turn into a billion cubes when popped , later cars and ghia was laminated , usually have a blue. . or now brown top band from sun damage. A new Lammy is avail from most Windscreen shops for about $130 ..

I had my windscreen replaced as part of the roadworthy with a new laminated one. 
Part of the replacement was a new windscreen rubber.
My word of caution-
The new rubber fit ok, however it was smaller, in that it covered less steel (radiating out from the glass {best description}) than the old one.
No big deal really, except that there is a line where the paint was covered up before, and exposed now.
 
Got the rubber from a mob out of Melbourne, cant remember the company name now, not rare spares.

Maybe the replacement windscreen itself may be smaller than the previous windscreen and not stretching the seal out far enough.
Easy fix is, from the outside of the car, to poke in a piece of insulated electrical cable between the edge of the windscreen and the seal to push the seal out further. Do this with the windscreen fitted. Do one edge of the screen at a time. Easy to remove if doesn't work.
