Del From Motorsport Heated Windscreens .... Old Ford Fan saying Hi ;)

Hi Guy's / Girls ( Sure there must be some out there :)

Spend a few hrs trolling through the numerous fantastic finds and projects here, and also in the Escort Section. Where I'm really guilty of loitering

Brings / takes me back ... Or at times wishing I was actually back as I have owned a MKI Escort BDA in Black with forrest arches, and also a RS3100 in Blue and many Lotus Cortina MKI's

Havn't got much to offer, as there is so much info here.
What I can offer though with all these resto's happening, is Full Heated Windscreens for the Capri MKI ~ currently in stock ... Maybe Christmas being the ideal time to shout yourself one

Full ADR approval etc.
These may be of some use to those who would like to compliment their cars with something a little different.

Screens are made in the UK by Tyneside Saftey Glass and in stock.
Cost $585 inc GST

Freight expanded foam packed to all states and also O/Seas if need be.

Freight is fully insured and starts at $145
The only thing which may dis-appoint the purist is they have a blue sun band across the top !

I have a very long detailed disctription of the product warrantee / fitting etc, etc.
Rather than place here ... Can email to anyone with interest.

Having sold heaps of the Escort model I'm sure if your interstate ( I'm in NSW ) and need to look at one I can arrange this.
Heating element wires are very thin at a fifth of the thickness of a human hair.

Anyway ....

Cheers .... Del

    Hi Guys

I purchased these with the view that they may sell ! as the Esky screens sell so well.
TBH only three have been sold in two years so i need to get these gone if poss.

As I am considering closing come the end of the tax year, maybe in anyone has interest I can supply these for the next 6 weeks or so or until stock has gone for $390 ea plus freight.

I am making the pilgimage  to Brizvagas in late Jan, so there would only be a freight charge of $40 instead of $195 if one is purchased and you live within 60 lkm of CBD

    Anyway ...

Thanks and have a goodie to those who still have time on their hands this new year working on their cars

Wow heated windscreen and you haven't sold any... Lol. I'd be getting them cut down to suit another car.( if that's possible) .Not being rude but id be surprised if you sold one seeing à new glass is $160.

I'd be interested in one Del, it would be very useful in colder climates. I'll email you in the next week or two.

Thanks ... Not rude at all.

$160 ... Mate your being ripped of at that price !
Don't recall saying I had sold none at all, just poor amount of interest. As I have sold over 40 Escort MKI -MKII

Glass cannot be cut down ! but thanks.

Having sold 518 to date for all sorts of other models, I really thought I may have sold some after once owning a very quick Capri myself when a young bloke, but that was in a colder climate.

Obviously not for you ... As you " clearly " don't appreciate the product offered as stick on demisters are approx $80. Maybe you have not grasped the concept or the benefit of having one !

    FWIW ....

I was racing at a historic event at Lakeside and it pissed down !
You know those rain storms you get up there. Over in 5 mins.

I had towed my car 1200 klms so sure wasn't leaving it in the paddock sheds

So I went out to race after qualifying 3rd and followed a Lakeside specialist around as after two laps i had literally no vision. Coming down from E/Loop my little penis cried out .... Hey Del there's the pit entrance stupid.
Man I can handle it. All I have to do is use his tail lights for my vision so i stayed at it.

Next lap .... Going down into Hungry I felt the thudding of ripple strips and that was it .... Like a knob I had followed him off.
Bounced off the armco, and 16 years later I'm still taking morphine for my damaged back as two cars ran into me as I bounced back on the track.

As I was building a new race car about 4 years back I looked into getting oneor two for the guys racing Improved Production and one thing led to another, and I ended up with Motorsport Windscreens.

I only offered these as they are ADR compliant, and although these are predominately used for racing I have sold hundreds for road and Targa cars. Things are very slow and I offered these at a reduced price because of just that !

To get one out of the UK would cost $920 these days

Dell whats your track car ?Post some pics. Im 5min from lakeside .I was a member of L.M.R.E to helped to rally to get track reopened. Its still no and never will be a v8 supercar worthy track by today standards But its a great track to take your small ford for a strap legally as I've done. Its quiet daunting a couldnt image going 2 wide at flat strap . good luck with sales not too many race Capri's left unfortunately .

    No worries ... Will do
Funny you say that where you live .... Luck sod, as back in 1987 we bought at Mount Tamborine but tried real hard to purchase one of only three houses across the lake from the Carorsell !!
Was mad on tourament water skiing and had a cheap boat, was hill climbing then too.
So living there would have been my ultimate dream.
House was sh_t but had nearly 1/2 acre and backed onto the lake ( When there's water in it that is ;)  )
There was also a cattery there which had council cert and approval for a 4 pen dog kennels.

Huh ... Nothing like living the dream.
Now I live in Wentworth Fools ! near Katoomba and miles away from any race track, unless of course you consider SMP to be a race track

Back then at Lakeside before it was re-surfaced I did a 1.05 which was half quick in a historic mini.
Can't say enough to you and the group that got things happening again, as loosing Lakeside would have been tragic indeed.
I'm lucky enough to have done a few race tracks back then and aside from Bathurst and Mallalar have done most except WA. I still feel Lakeside is to me the best there is for getting the heart going quick !

Derek, there is an old race track at Katoomba, Catalina Park. Google it for more info and check out this youtube footage of a Datsun 1600 going around:

    Current ride:

Thanks for upsetting my day ! ... Having said that great vid, as there aren't too many I have seen in car.
    Thanks for sharing
I have done about 100 + laps round there back in the early eighties ( That's making me bloody old aye ! )
Couldn't afford a video camera back then, and if I did it would have been one of those ones the size of a loaf of bread. Maybe even Beta !!

Now I do a couple of laps round there with my dog a few times a week reminiscing what used to be with anger.
I too spent a huge amount of time at Amaroo and Oran Pk too.
Simply can't understand why we are forced to run SMP and the goat track at Gouldburn these days. Guess it's the usual thing ... Greed.

Must admit Catalina was a blast .... Had a Cooper S MK1 back then. Bored to 1380 cc with a 45 stuck into the cab ! There was always a good 510 there most times I ran.
I also ran Amaroo Hill many times and also Silverdale for those that may remember them.

Had a good mate Owen Williman beat me by hundredths of a second most days in a well sorted Twink ... He was a very well respected race engine builder for the Lotus guys, who sadly got taken early by the big C.

    Anyway ...
