The lowest km (1637), most original one in aust
Hi Spud15, I'm quite intrigued at this car having such low km's - do you know the history of the car - why are the km's so low - was it in a crash ? ? Do you have any more photo's particularly of the interior - it would be a very useful source of information for anyone trying to restore back to originality - not to mention just very interesting regards Paul

you can check out my thread on this forum " barn find sort of" - gives some info. I purchased the car in south australia (they trailored it over from victoria). I really don't know much more than that about it but can put more pics up if u like. Getting all of the replacement parts for it at the mo so when i get some space.....

Is it possible it's done 101637? What's the story behind being neglected so early but kept in rego so long?

u could be right but highly unlikely looking at it - wear and tear to all parts - nothing has been touched - an old guy apparently owned it - he fell off his perch and it sat for years .. - there must be things i could look at that will show the k's its done??

actually, ill check the tyres - they should be old radials - but im not sure what they came out with originally.. (and the brake pads should be the orig ford ones) - if i can get the wheels off without snapping everything

Other than tyres you could check that there is no wear in the shifter. Even if it is around the clock once its still low. I remember when mine hit 00000, it seemed like a huge milestone. Not sure but guessing 2nd time around. I have a HZ ute with over 300,000 on it, adding that extra digit took the fun out of it.

Just a thought all the tyres including the spare should be the same, showing no wear and same brand?

built in 70 and still licenced in 81 - average 10,000 per year would suggest once around the clock - which is pretty much spot on - but who knows, maybe it is the lowest km Capri in OZ :-) Paul

Matching tyres seals it for me. What a shame it was left for so long.

Im going to start pulling it apart so taking pics of all the silly incidental bits - of interest if u are going to resurrect one with originality in mind. I may not be right re the originality of some of the parts but from memory they sit well .. this pic shows (obviously) the leads (1) - im guessing are original (so thin - around 5mm dia), rubber vac advance bung (2) and hard black plastic vac line
