Seats for Mk1 2 door.

Hi guys,

So, I'v saved some cash, and realized my front seats need replacing as the current ones are.....dying.....quite rapidly.

I'd ideally like some low back seats, a pair. I don't really know where to start as its the first time iv hunted some down.
Just wondering if anyone has any they'd like to get rid of, and how much a pair would be worth.

I'm based in Melbourne and am quite flexible in getting around.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!!

Cheers,

Siggy

Well it sounds like you want to replace the seats with similar ones, why not get them recovered or buy a good set of seat covers. Low back buckets are getting hard to find these days with high back being mandatory through the ADR`s

    Hey thanks Troppo :)

Yeh I was hoping for llow backseats because i really like the looks and feel of them. I'd love a pair of those RS beta cloth type seats but I suspect they are rare as hens teeth and pricey as hell! What do most folks on here use as seats?

    Hey What?,

Thanks for that! Yeh those were one of the types I was looking at! :) they look fantastic and are well within my budget. Some of the Corbeau seats looked good too. How'sthe quality of Cobra seats?

I very nearly bought those cobra seats but ended up with some race seats that suit the purpose of the car better.
    The quality looks good.
Two things to bear in mind though.
They are quite snug around the hips.
They are not adr approved but carry the European ece standard.

If you do a google search you`ll find folks (mainly in the UK) that sell vinyl re-covers for the standard seats. Theres some on fleabay ( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PAIR-OF-FORD-ESCORT-MK1-FRONT-SEAT-COVERS-CONTOUR-BETACLOTH-/251447778113 ) but they arent cheap
