I like your mags for the phat wheels. Looks great.

How big are those break calipers???[:u][:u] They look like they take up about half the disk.

Are you running a boosted system on those big puppies?

Cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

The mags are unfortunately borrowed, but I can assure you the permanent replacements will be even better[:p]

The calipers are pretty big!!A fraction smaller would have been good so I could keep my FR17's[8~2]

I dont run a booster, pedal feel is great and braking is sensational

Cheers,

Phil.

I've been out having a tinker again, slowly working towards getting the old girl finally finished once and for all

I may redo the rear firewall trim with the 'Cortina' script in 5mm thick mdf as opposed to the 3mm mdf I have used in this version, just so it stands out a little more. I was going for a subtle appearance but I think this may be too subtle

The appropriate slang is PHAT[(#)][88][:0][:u]...You need more mass in the boot to make use of the extra rubber[(#)]

Here are some pics of what my last few weeks worth of spare time has achieved...crossmember moved back 40mm and the engine back 20mm.All in the aid of achieving that perfect geometrical set up,and solving a few other little issues along the way

Looks good Phil. Just curious though, why did you move the cross member back 40mm? I would have thought you'd want to move it (and the sway bar) forward?

It's to centre the wheels in the wheel arches and allow full movement. Not so critical with 13" but when your talking 18" and 19"...every millimetre counts[;^)]

The other reason is that it is an escort geometry set up in a cortina, the original cortina crossmember location isnt equivalent to an escort setup
