For Sale 1978 MkII Window Van. Sydney. SOLD

I'm selling one slightly (or heavily, perspective depending) worn 1978 MkII Ford Escort Window Van.
Custom bumpers front and rear that are colour coded. Squared off, they blend into the shape of the car nicely.
The previous owner was a metal fabricator and fitted some stainless seat pans and tray skirts that look quite cool too.
This is most def a project car. Quite unregisterable in it's current state.

Body:
Cosmetically it's pretty stuffed. The remaining paint is faded, scratched and stared. Rust has had some pretty massive victories in certain areas. Places of note include, the windscreen pillars, bonnet, rear doors, rear bumper, rear quarters and roof. Basically it's quite rusty. Ironically, rust notwithstanding, the panels are all very straight. Window glass all good.

Interior:
Some dash cracks, seats will need a reupholster (or new seat covers). Has centre console from sedan, which looks quite nice. Padded roof lining that extends the length of the van.

Engine/Drivetrain:
2L  Engine and 4spd gearbox. Engine will definitely need a freshen up and tune. It was running well 6 months ago. Gear box is in excellent health as is the clutch, a new upgraded throw fork recently installed. Minor diff whine.
The engine has an electronic ignition, mild cam, balanced crank, rods and pistons, lightened flywheel, ported and polished heads, extractors and 2" exhaust (sounds lovely). Tough as, totally devoured hills. Chirped tires in second. Purchased from David Graalman, a member of this board.

Breaks/suspension:
Master cylinder replaced 2yrs ago,  and new front disks. Installed rear sway-bar gave it a solid rear end. Currently stops better than it goes... Front shocks may need replacement.

Wheels and tires:
I'm selling with stock wheels, and polished deep dish jelly beans (that are in need of a serious clean).

The Summary: I have to get rid of this car before my landlord loses it completely. Reluctantly I've prepared my conscience to have it towed and junked, however I feel it's not a completely worthless object; and although very badly rusted it isn't beyond the salvation of a dedicated restorer. + the wheels are quite nice. So, something for it would be good.
It's not run often this past year and currently turns but won't start, It kicked a couple of times like it would start, but then the battery died. I've not been through the checklist getting a motor thats been sitting a while to start, spark, fuel etc. Because I really don't have the time. This car must be gone in 14 days.

Located in Sydney. Not really sure what it's worth, but the engine and gear box are solid; and the mags alone have to be about $500? Make an offer here or timandrewart@gmail.com or 0404014256 (txt is best) -Tim
