Bump: Updated
- MK1 Escort Differential/Brakes
Final thing I require. As far as I'm aware its the only non original MK1 piece remaining on the car to yet be replaced. Any help would be great.

Cheers Marty but the current diff I have fitted is a 3.9 English. I want to put in a 4.11 Borg Warner in to make it original but I'm also wanting to keep the English just in case I don't like Borg Warner. If you happen to replace it at any point and your interested in a direct purchase I'll be interested.

Looking for a original cigarette lighter. Also can anyone help with how the cigarette lighter is suppose to be wired up? I can find a negative wire but don't seem to have any positive wire.

With a Borg Warner diff the gears are accessed via the rear and require dismantling and reassembling to change gears where as a English diff the gears just bolt on and off via the front. The pic below is of a Borg Warner

There's 2 connectors on the Lighter housing, one on the outside maybe an earth at end of the Housing, the one in the Centre, is heavier and is most likely to carry more amps so that maybe + Pos.!!! ... The only other things you'd want , with the ignition off, are the Clock or your Hazard Lights, maybe Courtesy Light .!! ... Take your pick, i think Clock it's close by.!! I still take crappy Pic's, hope they provide sufficient info. to allow evaluation, it's really the Vibe that counts, isn't it.???

My MK1 Escort never came out with a clock or hazard lights. Do the cigarette lighters in the MK1 Escorts have a constant charge or do they become charged as the accessories are turned on? How are other peoples lighters wired up?
