Volvo/BMW brake modes

Has anyone done this conversion? Volvo 240 calipers with BMW A30 discs. I was wondering if i could still keep mt 13`s with this mod or do i need larger wheels?
Cheers

    Hi Mate,

I used the Laser TX3 rotors as you don't need to mod the hubs.

They will fit fine under 13"rims

    Cheers,

    Matt

Great, thanks for that Matt. Will the volvo calipers work with tx3 rotors?

The benefit of the BMW rotors is they are WAY thicker than the TX3. I suspect using TX3 that by the time the pads are worn right down the pistons could be close to popping out of the calipers.  Would never be an issue of course if you change the pads when they are down to about 25%.
The BMW rotors need the centre hole bored out to suit the escort hub and also redrilling for the bolt pattern.  You will also need to have 2.5mm machined off the front edge of the rotor where it mates to the hub and also 2.5mm off the opposing face on the hub.  If you dont the inside of the rotor will foul on the tie rod end.

I use the BMW / Volvo combination and it works well and fits under 13" wheels. You just cant use stick on wheel weights on the inside of your wheels or they will hit the caliper.  Knock on weights arent a problem.
