Cold Airbox
Has anybody made a cold airbox for their escort,if you hhave where did you draw the air from.???
UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the rear. HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall. TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

Years ago I made a airbox for a mk1 2.0 with Webers. I used a cheap $9 toolbox and trimmed where needed and changed the lid to open with half the box so access to air cleaner(Datsun 240z ) , I then used a mk2 Flexy air duct to take air from where the battery was, I'd made a hole in that panel for the duct to sit in. I later cut slots on the underside of box to let any grit, bugs, rain , excess air pressure etc out .I used a Datsun air cleaner so I could still keep the billet Ally trumpets.

Hi All, I have not long made up a custom air box for twin 45's on my pinto in a RS but had the luxury of fitting a pod filter to the intake pipe behind the nose cone on the passenger side. There is a partially punched out circle in the radiator support panel on that side. I opened it out fully and bolted flanged pipes to either side and a hose to the air box. Have got some pictures but will have to work out how to attach them to this post . Len

NQRS, is that more of a shroud then an airbox? I like it though. Great stuff. Matt

Why is there a filter on the end of the intake. If the socks are staying on the carbs why not use a bell mouth?

To use that setup you need to enclose the air box completely and lose the socks (they are restrictive anyway). Or as 'What' said above to use that shroud effectively you need a bellmouth where you cut a hole in the body to get some ram air into the shrouded area. cheers
