Capri's in Canada?

Earlier today I was walking home in downtown New Westminster, BC, Canada (Near Vancouver) when I saw a car I wasn't expecting to see, a brown Mk1 Capri.
 
And was curious to know if they were sold here or that it was an import. The Capri in question was left hand drive and had very large (and ugly) bumper bars on it.

    Quite a few small fords in Canada, you will see MK1 and 2 Cortinas as well.  The Capri you saw is a US spec and would have had twin headlights, the bumpers are the 5MPH US spec items

    Interesting to know, and yes it had the twin head lights. At first when I saw it, I thought Capri but the heal\d lights and bumper threw me off and thought it was some yank thing that looked similar as I got closer I realised it WAS a Capri. But damn are those bumpers ugly.
     
    With my current plans, once I get my PR Card and living and working up here for good I'll be shipping my RS (which is currently parked in my brothers car port) over here and make the locals freakout.

    Hi Scott,
     
    Yes there is a Capri club and following in Canada somewhere.
    There were heaps of Capri's sold however most have rusted out and long been scrapped.
