Cleaning Carbs

Hi Guys,

I am rebuilding a set of twin Dellorto 48's and as they have been sitting around for a while there is a whiteish deposit inside that I want to clean up.  It seems like it's a calcium deposit or something similar and running with a brush doesn't seem to lift it.

Will Carby Cleaner sort this out?  What are some other things that others have tried and worked?

Cheers,

Matt

looks like alloy corrosion to me, were they sitting with water in them or in a very damp spot?

I agree with troppo re: it being corrosion.  Soda blasting might work well on it.

Yeah, My thoughts too.  I have just got them so i am unsure how long they sat around.

I'll try the soda blasting method and see how we go but I might contact a carbie joint first and see what they recommend.
