WTB: side mirror spacer

Hey folks,

Anyone have any of the mirror mount/spacers laying around to suit a mk1?

Both L & R would be good but the Right hand one is what I really need. I know they aren't all that common and am happy to pay a fair price.

Cheers,
Llewellyn

mirrors, spacers, internal adjust on driver side, Ebay auction ends Wed, Feb 19, 01:13 aesdst, part in geelong,
    $71 as now, <Escort MK2, XA,XB,XC Falcon mirrors> … Mk1's & mk2's  share many common parts,
I haven't seen spacers anywhere i've searched for parts,  i'm told, a good pair would be able to be reproduced
by an investment caster, in an aluminium alloy. Do you have broken bits from your original pair.???
How do we establish a Fair Price, when there are none available.!!   Where is home for you.???
    Cheers

Hey, is the door shape where Capri mirrors mount, similar to escorts, Would XY's mount on an escort.???
The current listing is for XA, XB, and XC, so, i will look harder at falcon bits.   i'll try to measure the ones
i have and post the measurements.   At SFS i was not looking at fine detail, i was tooo busy Lusting.!!

    got the Measure of it.
top of spacer: Length, 106mm.  along top sp curves up 3mm at centre of length. width, 34-35mm at centre
door skin to mirror Inside: back, 5mm, side centre 5mm, front up the slope, 25mm
door skin to mirror Outside: back 5mm, side centre 35mm, total length 115mm. base width, 43-44mm at centre
Fingers crossed.!!  if you find more than 1 set, i'll buy a pair, and try to make a repro, the process is destructive,
my brother inlaw is an investment caster,   the ford XA etc. spacer is of even thickness, size is as the foot of the
mirror, maybe to protect paint from damage, from foot of the mirror.
Contacted the Ebay mirror seller Re: extra spacers, no luck there.

GEEBEEN: I saw those ones on Ebay, but having seen a few go and buying a set of mirrors myself recently I'm confident they'll go for a fair bit more than that.
My drivers side is too smashed to reuse after some scrote wrenched the mirror in all directions before kicking it off completely. I was able to repair my passengers side but would love a good replacement too. As far as price goes, yes they are hard to find when you want them. But they are still out there, all over the place and are still just a little piece of plastic so I guess it's just what it's worth to the seller to part with them.

    Whooligan:
If you did have some, I would be very appreciative if you'd be willing to part with them. From the bits I have left the drivers side is approx. 22mm thick on the bottom side and approx. 12mm thick on the top side. The passengers side is quite different at 8mm on the bottom side and 4mm on the top. They both sat a little different but I never even noticed until all this so that gives you an idea of the sort of workable range we have, and how universally functional many different sizes are. The drivers mirror could easily sit tilted down a little more i.e the spacer a bit flatter/ not as tall. The main thing is just to make sure it's definitely a right hand one as the angle the bolts go through can be deceiving as I found out when I tried to fit a left hand one I thought bought thinking was a right hand one, now I know different.

I have attached a pic of the broken right hand one showing the angle the holes go through and it's approximate size.

If you have anything you think might work, let me know. Oh I live in Sydney so would need to post, but obviously I am happy to fix you up for costs and something for your troubles on top of what you want for the spacers.

    Many thanks,
    Llewellyn
