paint shops can look up the color in their charts but will only have the directions to make in acrylic where as most now want the modern two pack.
If you want acrylic then its easy but for two pack there is always the option of getting a small amount made up in acrylic, spray this on a small flat surface then take it back to the paint shop and they can photocopy this and produce it in two pack. Then keep a copy of the ingredients for any later patch ups.

Drops of black paint ? on tag, hid the paint code, and other info. it's hard as, i've been trying solvents to soften
and remove without damaging the tag. Eventually found Toluol had some effect, (it,s like an enamel baked hard)
anyway with a way to go, the code can only be a W, platinum blue. i'll continue till all removed. The car is a 1976
Escort Ghia 4 door, paperwork in glovebox indicate, that i'm owner 3. mileage 70 - 80k,
Thanks for helping, i'll have many more questions, Geoff

Geoff, the paint code will be written on the compliance plate under the bonnet too. Mine is W "Platinum Blue".

    Cheers Craig.
