V6 Engine Rebuild

Hi all first time on forum, need help sourcing parts to rebuild v6 engine, looking for performance pistons. Found some in UK at Burtons but I prefer buying in Australia. Also looking for someone in Sydney that knows the essex engine that can help with preparing the bottom end. My plan is to build a street fast engine with triple webers and a suitable cam. Any help would be appreciated. Managed to snag a couple of mk1's a 69 and a 72 so Ill also be needing lots of bits and pieces.

Yes, do that.  I swear by Cords piston rings for OEM pistons, and Clive Cams for your cam and lifters.  I have a set of triples

Thanks guys, good advise, will meet up with the Capri club in Feb, their first meet for the year. Someone else suggested Clive cams for the Cam, lot of people say the triple webers are not the best choice but they look so good!!, I always wanted to have them, what do you guys think of them??.

Aren't the 3.8L Essex V6s the Canadian 'cut down' 302 Windsors of the 90 degree type. They are not related at all to the UK Essex V6s of the 60 degree type that we are familiar with here and that started at 2.5L and went up to the 3.4L GAA Essex. The 3.8L V6s were used in the Fox bodied Mustangs and Mercury Capri's!

Knowing John Mc it will be a 3 litre stroker, IIRC Harrop were doing a conversion with Falcon rods etc years ago it will be something along those lines with a custom crank

JR you should have ben a detective. Im pretty sure this is what John Mc is doing to create his 3.8 litre monster. I believe he now has kits available or most surely they could be ordered.

Nice one Schlutes , long time no see.  John Mc knows these motors inside out, have a good chat with him (he has a good cam as well) he has all the bits you'll need
