1969 capri v8 conversion

Hi there guys. I'm new it this site so hope I'm doing this right.
I have just bought a 1969 mk1 capri 1600. I am going to put a 302 Windsor with T5 gearbox and hopefully a 9" diff.
Have you guys got any advice on engine mounts? Gear box mounts? Fitting a 9"? And suspension mods. I want to use it for track days and racing. Cheers

Cheers for the great advice whooligan. I was looking at the kits from castlemaine. So what's the BW out of and is it and easy fit. I still want to keep drums on the rear. I won't be starting this project for abit still need to finish my escort off but will post pics for sure. I'll be looking forward to seeing your project. Cheers

Quick question directed at wooligan, did you need to mod the tunnel to fit t5? And, do you have a picture of your gearbox mount?

I had to cut away to the top of the tunnel - from the original shift opening forward 300 odd mm x 30mm wide - to accommodate to T5. Not to bad ...
I used the engine mounts u see attached - they bolt straight up to the v6 xmember and cotton reel mounts - either power steer or non power steer v6. - so no cutting (to the xmember)  at all. Its good if you want to run the original v8 power steering pump - u can use new hoses to the v6 power steer rack. The hadfield mounts necessitate CUTTING (the mounting abutments off) and using a non power steer xmember (4cyl or v6)
I used an original Granada gearbox mount (throws back and down) - bolts up and a small mod for a single pin T5 mount. The only prob left is the speedo cable

What is the best crossmember to use for this conversion? A v6 one or standard 4 cylinder one? Or it doesn't matter?
