Engine mounts. Which one goes on which side?

So I'm just about to put the motor back in my car, and I've just realized that one engine mount is slightly shorter than the other ( something I didn't take notice of when I took the engine out!)

Can anyone tell me which mount goes on which side?

Regards

Dave

    Hi guys,

so ive been doing a bit of reading on this, and im really getting confused.

It seems (through other posts on this forum), that the engine mounts for a 2lt RS2000 are allegedy supposed to be the same on each side. Yet the car I have it very original in every way (one owner, old lady etc), and has different length engine mounts. That's not to say they weren't changed at some point I acknowledge that.

Can anyone please help out with some information as to wether or not a mk2 1980 2 door rs2000 should have different or same length engine mounts, and if so, which one should go on which side?.

    Thanks
    Dave

Shorter mount on left hand side.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it was shorter from factory to move motor away from brake booster.

Thanks for the reply chuff. By left hand side, and by virtue of trying to bring the motor further away from the booster, I assume you mean the passenger side of the engine bay?

Yes. Passenger side in a RHD car.
