Mk 2 Escort fuel caps

Hi All,

Near to finishing a full rebuild on my Mk2 RS, does anyone know of a good aftermarket type of fuel cap I could use instead of the standard twist type or cheapo lockable one from Autobarn.  Was looking for a good solid chrome one or even a fliptop.

Cheers,

Len

    Hey Len,
Is it a sidefill or rearfill? Heaps of nice alloy/ race style options for the sidefill easy to fit with a couple of brackets and no need to drill the body.... If its a rearfill, same again, but its hidden by the numberplate so only you'll know
Either way, let us all know what works on your car......
    Cheers Drew........

The fuel cap is for the rearfill, I got my side fill falsie deleted due to rust.  I have looked at aviation style caps but they won't fit so well. I would like a lockable fliptop or solid chrome cap even tho it's hidden behind the number plate. Don't want my 95 ron getting syphoned out!!  Any suggestions welcome!

    Hi All,

I had some luck with my search  for a fuel cap. Don't know how to put a WWW link on this page but found a seller "lots of classic things" who sells lockable fuelcaps -  they are an old English classic design , heavy chrome steel, circular with grooved edges. Cost $ 50 with postage, maybe a bit steep for some people, but with the time and money spent on my rebuild I wanted something nice to finish it.
