Rear Leaf springs Mk1 and Bushes

Hi guys,

I need new bushings in my escort all around. I've seen these kits on eBay from superpro.

One of the only major difference I can see from mk1 and mk2 is the steering column bush round vs square. I've got mk2 struts on there at the moment and looking at putting the king spring mk2 60mm springs on there and wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should get/do??? Does anyone know what the difference is between mk1 and 2 bushes? Are most of them the same size?

As far as the leaf springs go the King Springs are for a mk2 but the springs in my mk1 are 60mm already. I've seen a few people skim the bushes to make them fit. Are they the same length eye to eye?

Thanks a lot,

Jayden.

Front end bushes are the same MK1 to MK2.  The sway bar mount bush just needs to be selected to match the diameter of the bar on your car.

MK2 leafs in the MK1 - Use MK2 bushes and the front bushes need to be skimmed down to fit within the mount on the MK1.  Some grind the spring to suit a MK1 bush but to me this is crazy
You also need MK2 rear shackles to suit the wider spring.  The spring lengths are the same MK1 to MK2

    Thanks guys,

Haven't been on here been busy with the car. I ordered the King Springs from Autobarn front and rear. The 60mm springs were already fitted to the car so hopefully the shackles will be alright. I'll keep that in mind Ratta Tat Tat. Do the superpro mk2 rear sandwiches have the extra length in that step up or is it just the mk1?

    Thanks guys.

MK2 are a different pin size/ won't fit MK1 springs. The Superpro MK2 bushes might be fine for MK2 leafs
