So updates I better share on the forums as opposed to FB

Rear end is complete with coilovers, and 6 link

Gussets are done also, make it more rigid

18inch rims are the minimum these days, and 300mm rear rotors

So she is finally home, and sitting on the hoist to collect dust

Well not as such, have another list of things to do now, Front brakes and brackets mounted and fitted, these are huge in terms of size given how small the Cortina is

So festivities were a plenty yesterday, but back to business, with a bit of rain about today, got stuck into her,

If anyone knows, engine conversions suck, and tricky to mount the engine in and out that was not designed for it, hoist makes solo, easy

Front brakes suspension out

Here is the standard rear setup, so easy to quick to install

As opposed to the new rear end, so many bars and adjustment

Now to paint and tidy up the underside

Like it a lot...

Hoist, (and room) would definately make things easier!

I need to go up before I can fit a hoist.

Is that the majority of fabrication done then?

Hey Shaun,

I agree, so over rolling around under a car and no where to put anything let alone the cars that actually drive haha

Yes majority of fab work done now just little things like side intrusion bars, waiting for the couplings to be made as they are hard to get and to CAMS specs, modify the cooler and radiator in/outlets, the car will never have to leave again for these

Panel work is the big job ahead

So here is how the cooler and radiator are mounted as one unit, bit of cut and shut and add another crossmember and brace along the top

Painted up some of the little pieces to look more tidy, here is another variation to the world cup crossmember to suit the Cortina

Nothing much, but got more space the Cressida is out of The Ark, now have space to allocate parts to work on,

I have painted the rear of the underside etc, had some time thought id put the rear end back in

Next is to get the Brembo rears on, being an internal handbrake is proving tricky, but appears can be done

Have put the car back together for the next round of Fabrication, was hoping to not send it off again, but might as well get exhaust done at the same time,

Here is a few more pics of the Escort Crossmember with Rack and Pinion,

Closer look at the mounts either side

Gearbox mount

Heres a little bonus ive picked up, instant anti-dive kit, ill get an angled bracket welded to the cooler/radiator bracket, think i might have saved a few hundred bucks off a kit from the UK

Here she is back together, have to find or make a new Turbo manifold as changed the rear housing to a T3 frame

Novelty pic, having the youngen helping out

First time I have notice this. Absolutely brilliant way of mounting an engine. Do you mind if I pinch your ideas for a duratec install? Looking at fitting one in both a capri and Escort using the same mounts....I have a very skilled fabricator working on my Escort at the moment and he loves a challenge.
Great stuff. Keep posting pics, please.

Yeah mate all goods hey, not as tho its a new thing to cars, just a matter of not staring at it to long and just getting into it, my suggestion is make sure all ancillaries are on before final welding, i forgot the starter and is really tight in their, did not think it was that big haha
