Now Plated

Yippee,

Just got back from Vic Roads with my New Club Plate. Now the fun stuff can start. Tried my Laser 4 spokes on. These have 185 70 13 tyres on but I am taking the wheels to Ballarat Saturday to have them refurbed and polished and a set of 185 60 13 tyres put on. Was thinking of 205's but unsure if they will fit on those 6 x 13. Wheels as well as under the arch at the back. Pretty sure they don't fit the front but the guards will be replaced with RS versions giving a bit more room. Picked up from Dave a top bloke on this forum a pair of mk2 RS struts complete with calipers and everything else. Having a lot of fun doing this stuff, it will take a while but my aim is to keep it on the road as much as I can.

205 tyres will certainly fit on 6" wide rims, but whether the wheels will then fit without fouling your suspension or guards is another story, as it depends on wheel offset etc.

I really don't want a great deal of hassle with the car. That's why I didn't go for for 7x13 size as I think they just don't look right on a Mk1 to me. (No offence to anyone who has them). I will probably stick with 185 60 13's.
    Thanks for the interest.

Good advice mate, I am already thinking I need a larger garage and I have bought a new shed. I got offered a 2 door auto Mk1 Escort and I am glad I have no room or I would snap it up. You advised me some time ago to keep it on the road and do a bit at a time. So that 's what I am doing.

    Hi Matt,

I have penciled it in my plans if I am here for it. I dropped my wheels off in Ballarat this morning for Rod to work his magic on. Will take a few weeks and is expensive but I hope worth it.
