Mk1 Rubbers and Windows

Hi all,

I've been working hard on my mk1 escort for the past week or so. It's completely stripped to a bare shell now. All the rubbers in the car were buggered and in need of some new ones. I've seen rubber kits online but they are very expensive. Can you buy after market general rubber from anywhere? All the windows need re fitting, door seals, bailey channels, everything needs to be done. Would a local windscreen fitter/supplier be able to get trims? The kits I've seen are somewhere between 800-1000. Bit out of my budget.

Thanks

Jayden.

Hey mate, I had the same thing myself recently.
I bought some cheap ones turned out crap and ended up buying more!
Next time Id buy from the uk good exchange rates, and freights not  too expensive.
For ease the door seals and boot seals could be tracked down through someone like Clarke rubber but they were not any cheaper when I tried.
I bought some from yeasterford and they were good.

    Yeah no worries.

It's just a lot of money to spend on rubber for me. But in saying that I don't want a leaking car after all the work of getting the rust out. I'm going to try and source some cheaper ones aftermarket even if they don't work as good. It's not going to be a show car as long as it does the job :)
