Anyone with a T9 5 speed behind a 2.0L

Hey guys,
I'm wanting to do this conversion for more comfort on the open road. Not chasing power or anything like that, just want to be able to cruise along comfortably at more than 100kph.

Can anyone tell me whether this conversion is worth while with this goal in mind. I just need some personal opinion of anyone with this conversion done as to how it goes on the freeway/highway etc...

Much appreciated!

Tim

Regards,

Tim

Hi tim I just done it to my dads rs2000 and it cruises at 100 on the highway with out screaming its head off and still got plenty of punch down low if you travel in it a fair bit I strongly suggest it and its an easy conversion

I haven't done the conversion myself but the t9 box ratios I believe are pretty much the same as a standard escort 4 speed with the added overdrive so it will reduce revs at higher speeds without effecting anything else

T-9 are an easy conversion but the Supra/celica boxes are nicer.

Just put a type 9 behind my 1600, great conversion, and more simple than a lot of people make out IMO
