Did MK2 2 litre escorts come with manual chokes ?

Hi all,
   as the title says, Im trying to find out whether MK2 aussie ford escorts came out in 2L pinto motors with manual chokes on the 32/36 weber or were they all automatic water chokes. In particular a 78 rally pack 4 speed 2L
