In this case that is BS.[;^)] The World Cup X (WCX) member though seemingly the best idea/solution (leaf bushes with the captured bolt) is far too stiff and its ability to properly dampen the vibration of the engine is lost. Unwanted vibration from an engine is damaging. There is also another method to the madness and that is that the engine strut stops the head of the engine from twisting about its axis and across where by taking out the heater hoses and splitting them. Some might argue that the WCX member is the solution, but from experience the next thing to break will be the x member itself. The engine strut solution, allows the original engine mounts to be used and alleviates the twisting that is seen from the high torque of the engine. Weighing up the pros and cons this solution was chosen.[:0]

I am using 30 yr old rubber leaf springs bushes in my wcxm. These should have softened enough with age to eliminate a some of those issues. Urethane bushes in a wcxm is worse, never seen a wcxm break though. not knocking your setup, my bmw has one from factory, and germans know what they are doing

...The brakes are great - I need to change the rear pads and rotors, they are lagging behind now...The GT30 is brilliant, the engine is now not breathing enough, so naturally there will be some mods to follow[(#)][88]..........Also with the Sydney temps below 10C all the time, it is totally berserk...The new geometry settings with the suspension is such a blessing as well. 3.5 deg camber 5.8 deg caster and 3mm toe out...It is on rails...

Out of interest (sorry to get off topic) is it a police holding yard or a towing companies towing yard ? As a close relative of mine just had $7k + with of parts stolen out of his impounded car whilst sitting in the lot (up here in SE QLD) and neither the police or the towing company will accept liability for it.

Its the Police impound yard Unfortunately it happens down here too. The only way you have any chance of proving anything is to take video of the car,the gear in it and the condition of it as it gets loaded onto the tilt tray. Its not a case of if it gets damaged but how much it gets damaged when it is impounded. Best not get into that situation to start with if possible

I will back you mark on the crossmember. I have tried a wcxm and had to remove it after a month. I have also tried alternative rubbers no change.
