GAZ rear shocks

Hey guys there are GAZ adjustable rear shocks going on ebay but the ad says 67 to 74 ive got a 75 mk1. Will they fit? I think the upright rear shocks same as mk2 two started a couple of years earlier than 75 didn't they?

    You need to see if your rear shocks have the pin mounting to the floor (same as mk2), or the earlier eyelet type.
    As yours seems to be a late mk1 i'm assuming it has the pin type, however id make sure you check what you have and also check what type they are selling.

    Thanks evan, yeah had a look its pin at the top, eye on bottom Ill be getting the adjustable GAZ's in a couple of weeks. I have also had a chat to a spring and suspension mob in Orange and he said re-setting($200 per pair) the leaf springs and maybe adding a Re-bound spring($150 per pair) plus labour at $150 to remove and refit would be the go.
    So question time,
    Is the re-bound spring option a good idea?
    Is $500 not including new bushes worth it or can you get new springs for less from somewhere?
    Its only for fast road use and maybe the annual hill climb events held at Bathurst, other than that I just want to make it safer and more fun to drive, as it is right now driving it in the wet is almost dangerous.

    They wont suit a 75.  The rear shocks changed in MK1's during 1974 from the 45 degree 'eye at both ends' style to the 15 degree eye at bottom and post at top which is the same as MK2

    Yeah thanks I sorted that out and I can get the shocks that suit, any thoughts on the re-bound spring questions

    The extra rebound leaf is absolutely a good idea!  In both my Escorts the leafs are brand new Kings but with an extra rebound leaf added.  My cars never ever get axle tramp and i dont have upper trailing arms.  You shouldnt need them with the rebound leaf, and this also means you wont have the binding issues caused by trailing arms.
     
    Not sure i would bother having 40 year old leafs reset though. The new ones arent that much more expensive than getting your old ones done. You can only get them in MK2 width but all you need to do is have the front bush (NOT the spring) machined down to fit them in a MK1
